AFAIK, the only difference between Poly 800 models is Mk I vs Mk II (that is, there's no feature difference between, say, different serial numbers of Mk I synths). Those are two different features that aren't necessarily related in terms of which synth can do which.

I trust you to at least glance at the User Manual for your synth, and to read up on tape interfaces, and the stunning realization that WAV files work actually better than tapes do (they don’t flutter, wow, break, or corrode).
